Life As I Know It

Today has been a very long and tiring day for me. Yesterday I was seriously sick and in bed most of the day. Today felt like I was run over by a Mack truck and fell behind. I am back up on my feet again and trying to make the best out of things. I love having all the people I do in my life. I probably don't tell them as much as I should because I let life get in the way. So, if you all are reading this now I am here to say that I truly and deeply appreciate everything you do for me. I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things with everyone's help. Maybe a much needed dumpster diving trip this weekend or some spectacular shopping trip. Guess well just have to see since my crystal ball seems to be on the fritz.

My Latest Grocery Shopping Trip

The Krogers by my house has certain Kellogg's cereals on sale for $1.94 a box. These are the larger size boxes which makes it a great deal. To make things better I had a $4/4 coupon for Raisin Bran which was included in the sale. I got 8 boxes for $7. To add to this awesome deal I found Luna bars on clearance for only $.49 a piece. I cleaned up on those and a few other items that I found on clearance including Kroger brand Cheeze-Its. Man do I love a great deal. Altogether I spent $50 for $150 worth of food. 1/3 of the cost for the same amount of food, I would say that was a pretty darn good shopping experience.

I'm Back!!!!

Well if anyone was wondering where I have been you can now know. The family and I went to Ohio to visit with family and decided that it would be a technology free vacation. We got to visit with several family members and had a lot of fun there. I am from a very small town just outside of Toledo, if you were wondering where in Ohio. We took the kids to the zoo there which I highly recommend to everyone. It is one of the top zoo's in the world. Also in Toledo there is an awesome play place for kids called Nickel World. This place is somewhat like Chuck E Cheese but without the food being offered there. All of the games cost just a nickel to play with some of them being free. It only costs $3 to get in and you can buy a bag of 100 nickels for just $5. There are tons of games including several different cranes, skeeball, and bunches of arcade style games as well. There is a lot to do there and you can easily spend a few hours in there. Although they do not offer food there you can bring your own in. They also use a ticket system like Chuck E Cheese that allows your child to "buy" a bunch of different treats and prizes that start as low as 5 tickets. If you plan on taking a trip to the area I highly recommend going to both the zoo and Nickel World. They are both great fun for all ages.

My Day So Far

Today, I must admit, has been a pretty good day. I am shocked that the kids have managed to behave themselves for the most part. I am seriously getting to where I don't like the weekends so much anymore because I end up with all of the kids home alone by myself. Since I have my bestie and her kids are too it's not so bad. You would think that having 6 kids, 3 of my 5 and 3 of her 5, here at once would make things a lot more complicated but it actually makes things better. We are able to tag team the kids, cooking, and household chores. This has provided a huge relief to me not to mention given me much needed adult talk time during the days. Things are starting to look pretty good around here. The house is pretty much always clean, laundry is always caught up and the kids are always fed. What more could I possibly ask for right now, lol. On a different note, things with my truck turned out great as well. It only ended up costing $475 to get the truck completely fixed. We had looked into getting a second truck so that I would have a little bit more freedom when the hubby is at work but decided against it at this time. The first thing that we're trying to shoot for right now is getting a new house. TO be nice my hubby let me and my bestie go out shopping. Retail therapy always does the soul good. We had a blast out together!!! Love my time with her =)

Having A Rough Go At Things

My hubby has been being very tight with our money as of lately and wouldn't really let me go out to do any shopping or dumpster diving. He kept insisting that something bad was going to happen and we needed to save all our money. Turns out that he was right (that just seriously hurt to say, lol). The transmission on our SUV decided to get itself stuck in what we believe is either park or reverse. We can't tell which because the truck has an anti-theft system that makes you put it in neutral in order to start it up and we can't get it to go into neutral. It cost us $80 yesterday to have it towed a whole 2 miles down the road. To make matters a little bit worse the repair shop that we had it taken to didn't even get around to looking at it yesterday. My hubby had to miss work and I missed school. The worst part about missing school yesterday was that I had 2 tests. My math teacher has a no excuses policy so I ended up having to take a big fat zero on my very first test of the semester =(. I'm so not happy about all of this right now but I'm trying very hard to keep my head held high. Really could use some kind words right about now.

Sorry For Having Been Away Awhile

Things have been more chaotic here then they usually are. We have 4 extra people living with us and it will soon be another 3 on top of them. I love having people stay with us because I never get bored and always have help that is much needed. This time around it is one of my best friends and my niece's mom. She has 4 other children and a hubby to boot, lol. I guess you could see where things can get a little more than crazy around here right now. We are averaging 2-3 loads of laundry a day, at least one dishwasher load of dishes and 9 bathes each night. This doesn't even begin to include all of the food consumed here. It all makes me wonder how the Duggar family does it all, lmao.

Dumpster Diving Report #5

So me and Ashley went out again last night on a whim. Turns out it was a really awesome decision. We went to Micheal's and found a ton of stuff including brand new toys and scrapbooking pages by the pound. Of course we had fun as always. We also managed to score a few minor things from Bed Bath & Beyond. I might be taking a short break away from the dumpster diving but haven't fully decided yet. I love getting free stuff too much but the cost of gas is killing me sometimes. It more than pays for it self though when I find a huge haul like the one at Micheal's last night.
